Linux Application Developers (R)

Responsibilities:
- Maintain and enhance an existing web-based security scanning portal and associated components. These components include:
o Web-based user portal written in Python running on Debian Linux
o A Postgresql database that maintains user authentication and authorization information and reporting data, running on Debian Linux
o Scanner appliance: a streamlined version of Debian Linux that is installed at the customer premise and receives instructions from the portal. It then carries out the appropriate scan and reports the results of the scan back to the portal
- Developer will receive feature requests and product enhancements from the product management team, and be responsible for design and development of these requests. Some examples of feature requests are:
o Enhancing and customizing reports
o Adding new reports
o Expanding the scanner functionality, for example adding a new web-app vulnerability scanner to the scanner appliance
- Assist with troubleshooting the existing production environment
Requirements / skills needed:
- Python and associated web frameworks a must
- Perl and bourne shell scripting
- MySQL or Postgresql experience (Postgres preferred but MySQL is fine)
- Linux experience, primarily Debian and Redhat
- Familiarity with security scanning tools such as Nessus and NMAP
- A demonstrated familiarity with secure application development practices
- Willing to work on graveyard shifts.
