Systems Administrator

GoAbroad LLC, an international education advertising and IT company, seeks an experienced systems administrator to maintain their public network of sites and servers.
Job Responsibility
- Maintaining our public systems on the Internet, including installation and maintenance of our ColdFusion servers, the UNIX operating system, Apache, PHP, MySQL, and a variety of open source tools;
- Maintaining the security of those systems, including monitoring of security advisories and logs, upgrading software, and applying patches;
- Overall network presence in a variety of other areas, including core electronic mail capabilities, and our DNS servers;
- Planning and project management, O/S installation and maintenance, load balancing, firewall management, DNS and backup/restoration procedures;
- General user administration and support, troubleshooting, installing and upgrading servers and applications, managing capacity, tuning performance, scripting and producing documentation.
-Monitor stability and performance of all systems
-Provide support for common administrative tasks
-Diagnose, correct and document system level problems
-Manage and operate back-up systems for production and development environments
-Document standard operating procedures for the technical ecosystems that are being managed
-Share on-call responsibilities to provide 24x7 support
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or closely related field from an accredited college or university;
- Proven knowledge and expertise in systems administration for UNIX - based systems such as Linux (Debian, Red Hat), FreeBSD, and NetBSD;
- must also have at least one year of recent experience developing applications and performing data administrator functions (experience on Oracle9i or Oracle10g or mySQL version 4 or above is a plus)
- Strong SQL, PLSQL, and SQL scripts skills
- At least three years of professional experience in systems administration or relevant field;
- UNIX/Linux operating system & shell scripting and/or other languages(Perl, Python, SQL, C, etc.)
- IP Telephony/ VOIP Installation(preferrably Asterisk), and administration of different devices like access devices, IP Phones, gateways, etc that are used for IP telephony and VoIP infrastructure.
