Systems Administrator (Pollux)
Required:
·LINUX Operating Systems (Slackware, RH, Fedora, Ubuntu)
·Network and Server administration
·IP Services (DHCP, DNS, FTP, WINS), Networking and TCP/IP
·Network Security - Firewalls, Proxy, Antivirus, Encryption, Certificate, SSL, HTTPS and Vulnerability
·Network Application: MYSQL Postfix, OpenLDAP and Apache web servers
·MS Operating systems (XP Professional and Windows Server ... integration with Linux Servers)
Qualifications:
·Minimum 3-4 years experience in IT/Computer - Network/System Admin or equivalent
·At least 2 years experience in the design, installation, set-up and troubleshooting of servers and workstations
·Extensive understanding and hands-on experience of LAN/WAN/IP network concepts and the practical application of same
· Extensive understanding and hands-on experience of Linux scripting and administration
·Knowledgeable in various security tools and protocols
·Knowledgeable in enterprise level backup tools
·Professional conduct, high level of organizational skills and willingness to document work done
·Knowledgeable in Data networking (routing and switching, Networking, WiFi, VoIP, mail servers)
·Able to work with minimum supervision, can work under pressure and meet tight deadlines when required.
·A good team player with good people skills and can communicate complex and unfamiliar ideas easily.
·Have good organizational and logical thinking skills both to set up and administer a network and to diagnose and solve problems.
·Willing to work for long hours
·Experience in BCP/DRS is a plus
Responsibilities:
·Build servers, install OS, system upgrades, evaluates and installs patches and resolves system related problems
·Performs system backups and recovery
·Maintains data files and monitors systems and configuration to ensure data integrity and availability
·Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within MS Windows and Linux
·Supervise junior staff with problem resolution.
·Evaluate and recommend hardware for internal IT use
·Document all procedures
·Liaise with 3rd party service providers for IT requirements
