Unix (Level 1 and Level 2)
Certifications
• Certification in any flavor of Unix – Good to have
Qualification
• Diploma or Bachelors Degree in any disciple (IT stream – Good to Have)
Technical Skills
• 1 year experience within IT environment
• 6 to 12 months of Unix Server systems (any flavor) administration experience.
• Working Knowledge in Unix Administration (any flavor)
• File System Management, Logical Volume Manager (LVM) and Patch Installation – Good to have
• Basic Understanding on Remote & Network Configuration items - NTP, DNS, TCP/IP, Hosts, NIS, Telnet, Rlogin, FTP and DHCP
• Good communication and customer service skills and the ability and desire to work in a collaborative team environment.

• Accurate keyboarding skills
• Strong interpersonal and telephone skills
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems in a systematic and logical manner, and maintain good communications with all relevant parties throughout troubleshooting process. Must understand and apply existing written instructions

General Scope of Work
• Incident management - scripted resolution - follows documented instructions (this is the core focus of the CC function).
• Operations management – EDN, log and dispatch, scripted routine/scheduled tasks (e.g. routine checks), standard documented requests (e.g. backup/restore), service request administration (if necessary).
