Responsibilities

The Database Administrator (DBA) is responsible for managing the online games and billing databases as well as ensuring their performance, availability and security. Additional tasks may include maintenance and support for other databases and assisting with customer support issues as required.

The DBA is expected to work closely with the software development and operations teams during the design, development and successful roll-out of new games and services. S/he will be responsible for database security, performance optimization, capacity planning and scaling the databases as the business grows. The successful candidate will be required to define a disaster recovery plan for these systems to ensure business continuity. The DBA will also be expected to extract reports from the databases to provide management with useful business intelligence as needed.

Requirements

• Experience with open-source database systems such as MySQL and PostgreSQL as well as Microsoft SQL Server.
• Experience administering *nix and Windows servers.
• Strong understanding of relational database modeling.
• Knowledge of SQL & SQL Programming, including stored procedures and triggers.
• Strong understanding of database scalability and concurrency issues.
• Experience designing and deploying high-availability database systems for ensuring business continuity.
• Experience in database performance tuning/optimization.
• Experience working with and administering large databases (>100GB).

• Knowledge of data warehousing a plus.
