Senior PHP Developer – Arowai IT Solutions, Inc.

GENERAL SUMMARY
He or she will provide their technical expertise to lead a team of Junior Developers building a 3-tier web application. Will gather and analyze requirements, lead the design, development and implementation of the product. Will organize and participate in review sessions and contribute to system testing to ensure quality deliverables. Will develop good quality products in a challenging timeframe and assist and mentor other members of the team. Will provide regular feedback to management on project status. Will contribute to the development and continuous review of appropriate practices, standards and guidelines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Confers with the Project Manager and/or different departments regularly to identify programming job needs and determines how the desired results can be achieved. Analyzes existing systems and programs and develops or recommends new systems or modifications to existing systems based on the project being given by the Project Manager.
Reviews and analyzes system specifications to determine whether all required elements have been included. Gather information about programming job needs, objectives, functions, features, and input and output requirements.
Analyzes, defines, and documents requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, hardware and operating system environment, interfaces with other systems, internal and external checks and controls, and outputs.
Uses programming languages to code computer instructions from the systems documentation. Utilizes any special programming techniques necessary to achieve the most effective program.
Testing and debugging of modules developed. Maybe his/her own or others.
Modifies existing programs to conform to system changes or to make improvements in the existing program.
Advises and works with user departments to resolve specific problems or make changes in programs, computer applications, capabilities, alternative programming approaches, limitations, etc.
Trains Junior Developers in any specific procedures necessary to comply with project details and specifications.
Writes and maintains documentation to describe program development, logic, coding, testing, changes, and corrections.
Monitors performance of programs after implementation

Creates efficient and logical databases for clients. Designs and codes superior technical solutions.
Easily recognizes system deficiencies and implements effective solutions.
Creates and executes project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements. Communicates and enforces coding standards.
Manages resources within budget and project schedule. Reviews work of team.
Assists in the facilitation of team and client meetings. Delivers informative, well-organized presentations.
Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully.
Understands complex database concepts as well as the implications of different database designs and effectively employs many different database design techniques.
Possesses demonstrated work experience with more than one relational database management system.
Understands the benefits of the various programming languages.
Possesses significant knowledge of client server and Internet systems architectures.
Creates well designed, reusable objects and understands browser specific compatibility issues.
Understands the benefits of the various design methodologies and object-oriented environments.
Provides work direction to assigned Junior Developers. Responsible to answer questions from other Developers/Analysts in the absence of the Project Manager.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and equipment maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before employees of the organization.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Excellent planning and organizational skills with the ability to effectively direct project’s deadlines and deliverables.
Expert level knowledge in HTML, JavaScript, PHP, XML, AJAX, MySQL, PostreSQL and Dreamweaver.
Excellent group presentation skills and able to defend the cases presented.
