Mechanical Engineer

Key Responsibilities
• Lead the mechanical team to create a culture of zero harm.
• Adopt a risk based approach to improve health, safety and maintenance outcomes.
• Full compliance to company and statutory requirements.
• Responsible and accountable for managing, budgeting, maintenance, planning and operation of the mine infrastructures.
• Assist in the management of all maintenance activities as indicated on the area management plan to ensure operations are all times conducted in a safe and efficient manner.
• To manage the correct servicing facilities to achieve the set standards required in maximizing production.
• Maintain maintenance training and safety program for the mechanical engineering department.
• Establish and maintain maintenance plans and schedules which maximize operational availability and minimizing operating costs.
Qualifications & Essential Experience & Qualities
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years experience and must demonstrate a high level of knowledge and skills in the similar field.
• Relevant experience in the following areas are desired:
1. Main & Secondary Pumping Systems.
2. Compressed Air System.
3. Service Water systems.
4. Power Generation. (Diesel & Hydro).
5. Surface, UG, Hydro & Mechanical infrastructure, machinery & reticulation.
6. All mechanical infrastructure
7. Machinery and Equipment
• Good interpersonal skills and demonstrate capacity to work in a challenging environment and is driven to effectively produce and deliver results.
• Must demonstrate strong leadership qualities, values team work, self motivated and culturally sensitive.
