Job Title: Senior Software Quality Assurance Analyst – PI Development Operation
Reports to: SVP – Product Management
Status: Regular – Supervisory

Position Summary

The PI Senior Software Quality Assurance Analyst (SQAA) position is responsible for ensuring that all software produced and/or released by PCLender meets PCLender’s quality standards. The SQAA will develop, implement, and monitor processes to ensure that software is developed in accordance with PCLender standards and that it satisfies business, functional, and technical requirements. The position reports to the SVP of Product Management. The SQAA will be directly involved in software quality testing as well as managing other QA resources that may be hired in the future. The SQAA will also develop, implement, and monitor processes and standards to ensure that unit testing done by software developers is efficient, effective, and yields high quality software.

Essential Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manage and perform all Quality Assurance activities including :
  • Establish short and long-term quality plans in order to meet quality targets.
  • Report to organization regarding quality metrics, status, schedules, issues and opportunities for improvement
  • Make recommendations for continual process improvement.
  • Creating testing processes
  • Creating testing plans and schedules
  • Building test scripts
  • Obtaining sign-off from SVP Product Management or others that each test script will test the key functions of the software
  • Executing test scripts
  • Planning, creating and running regression tests
  • Creates and distributes QA Activity Report
  • Communicating with developers, business analysts, and others why software did not pass the quality assurance tests and precisely what has to be changed to modify the software to satisfy the requirements
  • Operating the testing process so that it does not needlessly delay the release of software
  • Develop and execute a plan to strategically apply QA resources to highest value code development efforts.
  • Implementing and utilizing automated testing tools
  • Ensures QA resources are working to meet estimates for man-hour and delivery calendar estimates for preparing and executing test scripts; monitors estimated vs. actual results to improve the accuracy of estimating and increase analyst efficiency
  • Collaborates with Product Managers, Development Managers and other resources to plan product development and release schedules

Requirements

The qualified candidate will have a strong background in automated and manual testing of enterprise software products with a minimum of five years of hands on experience. The primary responsibilities of this position are to perform and manage the Quality Assurance processes to ensure that all software applications meet defined requirements through an approach that includes manual and automated testing based on business scenarios.

  • High proficiency for skills required to independently manage production quality software design, development, and testing
  • Candidate should have a solid understanding of software Quality Management methodologies and significant hands-on experience doing software testing
  • Experience and/or understanding of accounting and financial concepts are essential.
  • Ability to work directly with software engineers and designers to explain test results, problems and discuss desired solutions
  • General knowledge of the loan origination process is required; Candidate will be expected to develop a solid understanding of the US mortgage loan origination process within the first 18 months in the role.
  • Knowledge of implementation and support of automated software testing processes
  • Knowledge of required data/system security requirements as it pertains to private consumer data and regulated institutions
  • Strong management and leadership skills
  • Excellent analytical skills, excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills as well as solid negotiation skills. Must possess stellar listening skills
  • Good organizational and time management skills; ability to manage multiple tasks. Proven ability to follow through on all assigned tasks or responsibilities
  • Training and documentation experience
  • Ability to identify root causes of problems, and offer proactive solutions/suggestions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Supervisory or managerial experience required with ability to plan long-term improvements.
  • Good analytical and communication skills enabling candidate to participate in design discussions and to contribute to a release decision-making process.
