Messaging Operations Engineer

Messaging Operations Engineer:
Work as a member of the Global Messaging Operations Integration team.
GMO Integration is accountable and responsible for the design review, testing, operational process development, production implementation and operational support of Messaging and Mobile products and services.
Team responsibilities include;
• Delivery of high quality, tested, and approved solutions
• Assurance that any work or changes are fully understood, costed and approved before they commence
• Assuring service levels are maintained to the required standards
Daily responsibilities include;
Acquiring a solid understanding of the end to end solution for our clients Project planning Design review Test plan creation Testing, evidence of testing Production deployment Capacity planning, systems management, change control, monitoring, compliance to information security standards, performance metrics, baseline metrics Document creation or modification of operational processes and procedures in order to support the product effectively once in production Subject matter expertise of assigned product / project Proactively support the messaging and mobile products / services through continual service improvement Compliance to standards and / or development of standards for product where there are none. Candidate will work with various stakeholders as we move through the infrastructure life cycle and project planning phases.
Knowledge/Experience:
• A minimum of 10 years experience with significant technical, integration and operational experience in messaging products and services.
• An excellent track record in project planning, process controls, problem solving, service delivery and customer interaction.
Skills:
• Self starter w/ excellent customer skills Demonstrable collaborative and communications skills. Excellent team building and team working skills
Qualifications:
• Experience is more relevant than formal qualifications but degree level is desirable.
• Certification in ITIL, ISO or other framework desirable.
• Certification in Microsoft backend technologies.
• Exceptional candidates who do not meet these criteria may be considered for the role provided they have the necessary skills and type of experience.
Technical Competencies
• Expert knowledge of Microsoft BackOffice products such as Exchange 2007, SQL.
• Expert knowledge of ITIL or other framework Expert knowledge in project management
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft operating systems, Active Directory, DNS, TCP/IP and Sendmail.
• Experience with products such as Microsoft Identity Integration Server (MIIS), databases, Blackberry, Orchestria, ZANTAZ Extended Email Storage, Monitoring products, LDAP, Solaris Operating System, UNIX / Linux.
