Profile and Job Description of future Team - Oracle
Job Profile :
The candidate should be able to work on flexi 8 hour work per day, over any given 5 days a week schedule. To resolve production database problems, new installations, implementation of changes, supporting business over high-availability environment.

Primary Responsibilities :
Secondary Responsibilities :
- Acknowledge and respond to user chat.
- Provide telephonic support, wherever appropriate
- Resolve Incident and Service requests in the queue
- Proactively resolve DB related problems, based on alerts triggered
- Implementation of Upgrades, Changes, Configurations, etc.
- Implement and rollout global initiatives/projects
- Resolve production related outages and apply break-fix to databases.
- Implement and rollout global initiatives/projects
- Troubleshoot and fix performance issues.
- Interact with other functional and business teams across the globe.
- Opening cases with Vendors
- Execution of IWE, BCP, Powerdown
- Technical nature of work include:
? Setup of production Data Guard/RAC/VCS environments.
? Production database upgrades.
? Data Guard switchover/failover.
? VERITAS Cluster switchover/failover.
? Backup and recovery using RMAN
- Should be capable of leading projects like patching/upgrades at global level. Must be capable of leading a team.
Technical Skills Required :
Essential :
Desirable :
RDBMS : Oracle 8i, 9i & 10G. OEM, Data Guard, ASM, Backup & recovery using
RMAN, SQL & Instance Tuning, RAC.
OS : Solaris 8 & 10
Cluster : experienced in VERITAS Clusters
Tools : Shell Scripting, TOAD, DB Artisian
RDBMS : Good knowledge in other databases like Sybase, MSSQL
OS : Linux
Tools : Perl Scripting, SQL Backtrack, Golden Gate replication
Personal Skills Required :
Communication skills :
Strong analytical and logical skills, capable of resolving problems quickly and independently. Should be an excellent team player. Willing to work outside normal business hours (weekends).
English – Excellent in written/verbal communication. Capable of leading
incident related conference calls.
