Systems Sales Engineer

Specific Job Functions
• Provide regional Pre-Sales support for Data product lines
• Develop value propositions and solutions based on as well as third party products and services to meet customers’ requirements.
• Develop and identify business opportunities in IP/MPLS applications in the Service Provider space including Metro-Ethernet, IP VPN, P & PE Router networks, Multicast, ATM/FR transport and Triple Play
• Develop and identify business opportunities in the 2G/3G/4G Mobile Backhaul / Transport space
• Provide and present high quality RFI/RFP/RFQ to support business success.
• Lead Proof-of-Concept / Trial activities
• Assist on training and transfer of technical knowledge to customer team
• Lead High / Low Level Design activities with customer
• Contribute go-to-market plan for product lines
Core Competencies
• Network design, application design & configuration experience for critical technologies.
• Evaluation of various configurations & options, present optimal solution recommendation to customer.
• Able to use configuration and pricing tools to develop customer quotes.
• Microsoft Office tools proficiency including PowerPoint, Excel, and Visio.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills. Leadership and team skills.
• Strong negotiation and persuasion skills. Complex decision making skills.
Related Business/Technical Knowledge skills & Expertise
Good-[Sr SSE] working knowledge in the following areas:
• Understanding of carrier networks and prior experience in Telecom industry support role
• Pricing tools
• Network design/ modeling/configuration
• Segment specific technology platforms, expertise and certification
• Working knowledge of test equipment and lab trials
• From a private/vendor operator background supporting country main carrier. Eg. Singapore -Singtel, M1, Malaysia – Telekom
Technical knowledge
Good knowledge in IP/MPLS, ATM, FR, VPMS, MPLS VPN, OSPF, ISIS, LDP, RSVP. Ethernet covering core & access product in Layer 2 Integration.
Role Scope & Regional Coverage:
• Handle main carriers in Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Singapore, Hong Kong and Taiwan

• Must have experience in serving local Service Provider industry. Regional exposure is a bonus.
• Must have recent working knowledge in IP/MPLS in Service Provider applications – Metro-Ethernet, IP VPN, MPLS P/PE, IPTV, FR, ATM. Mobile Backhaul exposure is a bonus.
• Must be familiar with MPLS network design theories, and IP network engineering/routing protocols such as RSVP, LDP, ISIS, OSPF, BGP-4, VPN planning and capacity calculations, preferably with strong knowledge in Ethernet access methodologies.
• Must have recent hands-on configuration experience with MPLS-based Routers (any brands)
• Need to be familiar with business development cycles in the local/regional market, RFX cycles or with pre-sales experience with private operators working with a vendor engaging environment.
• In-depth knowledge about data communication/MPLS industry, the key players and global trends.
• Understand Mobile, Fixed Network, Cable operator’s requirements as well as financial models.
• Must have good communication and presentation skills, fluent in English and ability to work independently. Mandarin read/write capability is a bonus.
Degree in Engineering with major in Data or Computer Networking or Telecommunications
5-8 years of technical sales/ design experience in the data industry
Preferably with any of the following CISCO/Juniper Certifications:
CCNA - Cisco Cert Network Associate
CCNP – Cisco Cert Network Professional
CCSP – Cisco Cert Security Professional
CCIP – Cisco Cert Internet Professional
CCIE/JNCIE – Cisco Cert Internetwork Expert
