PHP Programmer for Online Directory Website Project
JOB DETAILS:
Our company, HYPERLINK WEB, LLC (http://hyperlinkweb.com), which is headquartered in Boston is looking for a work-from-home, project-based programmer in the Philippines who has advanced knowledge in a lot of programming languages, understands English well, is open for learning and complying with the rules, observes deadlines, organized, and replies to emails promptly.
We are looking for someone VERY skilled with HTML, JAVASCRIPT, CSS, PHP, MYSQL, Wordpress and other programming languages would be a huge plus, not limited to CMS, iPhone/Android App development, mobile applications, etc.
The successful applicant will work intensively with a small team. He/she is expected to dispense information, reply to emails promptly create daily reports, and assist the junior programmer in finishing tasks.
This is a project-based job; we currently do not accept applicants who have other commitments. Principals only, no referrals.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Specifically, our current project is an online directory website. We expect the applicant programmer to be knowledgeable in all facets of PHP to ensure the site is free of problems, and
can fix new ones that come up, especially it being tied with an iPhone App.
Broadly speaking, applicant should be open for learning and implementing learned skills in tasks that we assign. Applicant will be responsible for sending daily emails with updates on the project status. Also, the programmer will be using a time tracking module and/or work diary to keep a record of hours worked.
If a meeting in USA is required, we will pay for your trip.
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
First of all, the applicant should REALLY be an expert programmer, especially in PHP, since he/she will be working on an online directory, hence dynamic pages. If he/she has suggestions that will improve the current anatomy of the website, we will listen, as long as it’s feasible and meets the deadline.
Applicant should hold a computer-related degree and a vast portfolio of successful projects (which should ALL be mentioned on the resume).
With the job being work-from-home, a DSL internet connection with download speeds of at least 1mbps is required for file sharing, video conferences, and uploading. Our choice of an ISP is either Globelines or PLDT MyDSL.
Hardware-wise, your computer should be equipped with at least XP Service Pack 3 if you’re using Windows. Your computer should not be host to any viruses or malware.
Applicant should MEET DEADLINES and reply to emails IMMEDIATELY and CLEARLY.
IMPORTANT:
The programmer should always prioritize assignments given to him. A daily report consisting should be submitted to his superior/s. The programmer should also be willing to work overtime to complete priority projects. Diligence is crucial if you want to keep your position.
We would like to again clarify that the programmer needs to be a good conveyor of the English language, particularly in dispensing technical information/instructions to non-programmers by way of Word documents, pdf files, and/or Camtasia studio/Jing.
The programmer should always be open to critical evaluations and suggestions of his/her work. If a complete redesign is required, the programmer should have no qualms, but we are also very open to assertions coming from him/her.
The programmer is expected to make routine backups of draft/final work and send it to us with complete documentation and troubleshooting if any error may occur.
The position also entails being on-call even on weekends (if the project requires it) and responding promptly to each email sent to you.
