Magento Expert Needed
at Electricbot (Anywhere)
We're looking for a seasoned frontend/backend Magento programmer who knows it\'s core architecture inside and out. This is for a Freelance contract position to develop custom Magento solutions for our numerous web sites. You'll code on a solo basis with talented graphic designers to help you develop clean and elegant code following best practices of Magento's coding platform. You will be responsible for laying out the groundwork of our code.
Responsibilities:
- Collaboratively design and architect technical solutions that fulfill the needs of the company.
- Write high quality, bug free code, visually appealing websites, and web based applications.
- Design and Code Magento Modules and functions for our eCommerce platform.
- Possibly leading a team of junior developers in the near future.
Must Haves:
- Must be available during our normal business hours. (12pm-8pm Monday-Friday GMT+2).
- Must be FLUENT in English and have excellent communication and writing skills.
- A core understanding of Magento's framework and model classes (EAV system).
- Ability to customize Magento by creating new models, customizing the admin panel, and creating modules without touching its core.
- 2+ years experience working with Magento.
- Solid problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Experience working in a team environment.
- Must adhere to good programming practices (W3C valid) including developing in a test environment, checking and spell checking your work on different browsers, OS, and iPad, backing up work before deploying changes and going public, etc.
- Strong PHP/MySQL Experience (3+ years).
- Experience with Zend Framework or other PHP web frameworks, CSS, HTML, Open Source tools, etc.
- Strong experience adding various extensions to Magento.
- Must be a problem solver! If we provide you with a task and you are not familiar with it, you will know where to search for a solution and can implement it.
- Must be available to start immediately and be managed within our company project management platform (pivotal tracker).
