Linux Network System Administrator

Responsibilities:
• Design and Implementation - Participates in network analysis, design and implementation. Coordinates installations, replacements and upgrades of network and communication equipment with the project manager, on-site staff and vendors.
• Support - Troubleshoots, analyzes and resolves network problems. Repairs and/or recovers systems by identifying failure causes, utilizing system error logs, tools, and alternative recovery techniques. Ensures appropriate level of support from vendors.
• Maintenance - Analyzes and provides performance tuning for the network. Installs updates and patches to operating systems and network hardware. Maintains current software by adding and removing application resources and installing upgrades. Applies knowledge of the security structure and reasoning behind levels of access.
• Documentation - Develops and maintains system documentation of all equipment configuration parameters. Formulates standards for network management.
• Training – Learns and advances knowledge in new voice and data communications technologies and methods for detecting and preventing intrusion.
• Deploys, configures, supports and maintains off-site office network hardware/software. Provides documentation and training on network administration tasks.
Requirements:
Must be knowledgeable in the following:
• Linux Kernel Programming
• Firewalls, routers, switches
• Network Monitoring /Troubleshooting
• SVN, CVS
• DNS management
• Apache
• Tomcat
• MySQL
• PHP
• Java /J2EE is a plus
Job Requirements:
Minimum Educational Attainment: Bachelor’s degree in BS Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering or related courses. Willingness to work in Makati area and work in a flexible schedule (evenings and weekends)
Specific area(s) of experience needed: LAN environment, Virtual Private Networks (VPN), Linux and Windows-based environments, troubleshooting of network communication hardware/software, IOS administration tasks, Traffic monitoring, Network management
Minimum Requirements: 1-2 Years Experience
