Application/System Support Engineer
at Blitz IT Consultants Pte Ltd in Manila
This position will involve system, software, and application support to include installation, configuration, testing, and trouble shooting of systems, 3rd party applications, and Swift proprietary software.
The ideal candidate will have significant software support and system administration experience in Windows and Unix environment.
This position will also involve negotiation of software fix priorities with development teams in order to ensure the timely delivery of operational fixes and workarounds often under very tight schedules and high stress conditions during problem situations.
Your responsibilities will be to
Perform and control day-to-day email/phone/onsite supports on:- SWIFT Payment Application systems administration/management activities that may include initial set-up, configuration, testing of hardware or software platforms and/or customisation to maintenance and upgrade projects.
Resolve moderately complex problem management issues by investigating and devising solutions for systems/operations. May include installations, set-ups, and error message, on line transactions, system/application status, testing solutions, and operational procedures in accordance with the service level agreement.
Interact with network services, software systems engineering and /or applications development in order to restore availability of services and/or identify root cause of complex problems.
Review complex problem situations and identify preventive measures / improvements to processes, procedures or tools and implement these as required.
Follow up with any lead generated
Be willing to rotate in an on-call scheme and work in late hour.
Professional knowledge and expertise
Excellent problem solving and analysis skills
Excellent knowledge of Windows/Unix Operating Systems (Unix system has an advance and is preferable)
Knowledge of networking
Knowledge of Database like Oracle and SQL
Advantage - developer background
Advantage - works in financial industries
A team player, willing to work in a multicultural environment
Be willing to rotate in an on-call scheme and work in late hour.
Willing to travel (within the country and as well as overseas)
