Online Software Engineer

Responsibilities:
•Liaise directly with the Online Lead Programmer and “Technical Director - Online” to develop the online networking and server infrastructure for a large scale PC based MMOG.
• Develop server based game modules.
• Develop tools, systems and game technology required for an MMOG in C++ and custom script languages.
Requirements:
• Strong C/C++ skills.
• Experience developing for networked and/or online game systems.
• Ability to work within an existing code framework and/or create new technology from the ground up.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong work ethic.
• Strong knowledge of common software design patterns.
• Tertiary qualifications in a computing related field - Computer Science degree or similar.
• Experience working on a team.
Plusses
• Previous commercial experience working as a game programmer.
• Prior experience working on an MMOG.
• Linux, MySQL or SQL Server experience.
• Knowledge of Object Database technologies.
• Good general SQL skills.
• Experience with multithreaded application development and debugging.
• Experience working with scripting languages/systems.
