DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR
National Capital Reg – Eastwood, Libis

Responsibilities:

* Design and document database architecture * Data Modeling, Design Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence platform * Build database schemes, tables, procedures and permissions * Set up data sharing and disk partitioning * Develop database utilities and automated reporting * Create shell scripts for task automation * Create, test and execute data management languages * Analyze and sustain capacity and performance requirements * Analyze, consolidate and tune database for optimal efficiency * Monitor systems and platforms for availability * Oversee backup, clustering, mirroring, replication and failover * Restore and recover corrupted databases * Install and test upgrades and patches * Implement security and encryption * Provide 24/7 support for critical situations * Evaluate and recommend new database technologies * Reporting extractions

Requirements:

* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology , Engineering or equivalent. * At least 2 years experience in database installation, configuration, maintenance, synchronisation and performance tuning of the following databases: MSSQL, MySQL. * Can automate reports and database monitoring via scripts. * Has experience in monitoring and performance evaluation of hardware and software behavior. * Has experience in managing and maintaining data integrity/security, backup, restore and disaster recovery procedures. * Proficient in database alterations to correct erroneous data and include migration of data. * Detail oriented. * Strong communication skills.
